The Open-Source Orchestra
A new indie / chamber-pop sinfonietta
The Open-Source Orchestra is a new modular chamber ensemble working on the boundaries between songwriting and classical composition. Founded by composer Tom Irvine at Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium in 2022, the ensemble makes use of classical instrumentation as an integral foundation for original songs that combine poetic lyricism and personal themes with intricate and ambitious arrangements. The ensemble's 'modular' setup means it can be adapted to different constellations for different concerts, from string quartet to sinfonietta to full orchestra.
